Role Purpose:
We are seeking Zonal Response Team (ZRT) Operatives to join our team, primarily working night shifts. You will be responsible for executing tasks as directed by the Dispatcher in the Regional Operational Centre and your supervisors, ensuring that work orders are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Safety is paramount, and you will adhere to site regulations and protocols, representing Colas in a professional manner at all times.
Main Duties:
- Conduct temporary defect repairs while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Implement safe working methods in all tasks.
- Comply with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
- Understand and adhere to Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) regulations.
- Operate vehicles in accordance with The Road Traffic Act.
- Utilize machinery as instructed by your Supervisor.
- Install and remove Traffic Management as necessary.
- Be available for a flexible work schedule, including night shifts and bank holidays.
- Prioritize safety for yourself, visitors, and colleagues during all operations.
- Conduct activities with environmental considerations to minimize pollution and comply with legal requirements.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be a flexible and hardworking individual with experience in a similar highways maintenance role. A valid UK Driving Licence is essential, and an HGV Class 2 Licence is required unless you have a strong background in Traffic Management. Good physical health is necessary as the role can be physically demanding. Additional qualifications such as DCPC and Traffic Management TTMBC are desirable.
Compensation Package:

- A competitive salary ranging from £11.44 to £14.37, depending on experience and qualifications, with a 30% uplift for night shifts.
