About the Role:

The Assistant Estimator is a key position within Chevron Traffic Management, supporting the commercial and operational teams in ensuring efficient contract delivery and assisting with the preparation and compilation of 'in contract' quotations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and build client relationships to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage client portals, including prompt responses and data upload, to maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Review client challenges in relation to submissions and provide timely solutions.
  • Liaise with Operational Leads to understand scheme requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Review Traffic Management Design to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Compile Target Cost backup substantiation sheets for clients to support contract delivery.
  • Undertake review and pricing compensation events to ensure fair and accurate pricing.
  • Attend weekly and monthly update meetings between commercial and operations to ensure seamless communication.
  • Update scheme and contract registers to maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

  • Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Experience working within a commercial setting, preferably in the traffic management industry.
  • Knowledge and experience of Temporary Traffic Management, including design and implementation.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, to analyze and present data.
  • Attention to detail and ability to think laterally and problem-solve to ensure effective contract delivery.
  • Ability to build new and existing relationships with clients and suppliers to drive business growth.
  • Full UK driving license to facilitate travel to client sites.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Understanding of the NEC form of contract to ensure compliance and effective contract management.
  • Understanding of digital services and product deployment to stay up-to-date with industry trends.
