About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Scene Build Artist to join our team at BlueZoo Animation Studio. As a Scene Build Artist, you will be responsible for populating Harmony scenes with the necessary assets, ensuring they are ready for the animation team to work on. You will also troubleshoot technical, narrative, and visual issues that arise during the scene build process.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Track and gather all required assets for each scene, including backgrounds, rigs, props, crowds, animatics, and audio.
  • Attend episode and asset review meetings, taking notes related to the content of each scene.
  • Position elements within each scene according to the shot's layout, ensuring each shot is ready for animation.
  • Maintain organized production files, adhering to studio naming conventions and a clean Harmony Node View.
  • Collaborate with Animation Leads to ensure the Scene Build workflow delivers assets suitable for the animation team.
  • Work closely with BG Leads to ensure continuity and correct staging across the episode.
  • Partner with the Pipeline team to optimize Scene Build workflows.
  • Depending on resources available, you will have the opportunity to learn skills from other departments, such as animation, design, or rigging.

About You

Must-Haves:

  • Good knowledge of Toon Boom Harmony software.
  • Strong understanding of animation and design principles.
  • A portfolio demonstrating at least one relevant animation industry skill.
  • Detail-oriented and possess a good eye for detail.
  • Excellent organization and self-management skills.
  • Ability to listen to and implement direction positively.
  • Team player with a passion for collaboration.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to take ownership of your part in the pipeline.
