BAM Construct & Ventures UK is on the lookout for a skilled Cost Management Specialist to enhance our team. This position will work in close partnership with the Senior Cost Manager, Commercial Director, and various Department Heads to optimize the financial performance of our contracting divisions.
Project values typically range from £10,000 to £250,000, accumulating to approximately £8 million annually.
This is a full-time role, operating Monday through Friday, with potential travel as required, based out of our main office.

Your ResponsibilitiesThe Cost Management Specialist will report directly to the Senior Cost Manager and Department Heads, concentrating on the financial oversight of contracts, including risk assessment, change management, budget oversight, and cost tracking.
Key duties include:
- Upholding exemplary safety and environmental standards
- Facilitating effective communication with the commercial team and relevant stakeholders
- Overseeing subcontractor management, including payments, final accounts, and conflict resolution
- Delivering timely financial reports and updates to senior leadership
- Participating in discussions regarding project performance and strategies
- Advising on contractual matters and attending commercial discussions
- Contributing to risk management efforts and proposing enhancements to company protocols
- Providing commercial training and supporting project teams
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Familiarity with standard contract forms such as NEC and JCT
- A solid understanding of the UK Construction industry and general commercial principles
- Experience in project scheduling, budget management, and financial reporting
- Strong organizational, communication, and IT skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and SharePoint
- Alignment with BAM's core values
