Kitchen Assistant

The role of Kitchen Assistant at the John Lewis Partnership involves working in all areas of the kitchen, including kitchen porter, basic food preparation, and adhering to cleaning schedules. As a Partner, you will be part of a team that is committed to providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the success of the Partnership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare food to a high standard, following recipes and health and safety guidelines.
- Manage stock and wastage, ensuring that the kitchen is well-stocked and that waste is minimized.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Adhere to cleaning schedules and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Food Safety Level 2 qualification (training will be provided within 3 months).
- Previous commercial kitchen experience is desirable but not essential.
