Role Overview

As a Biology Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching Biology across Key Stages 3 to 5. You will work collaboratively with the Science Department to develop innovative teaching strategies and contribute to the continued success of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality Biology lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5
  • Ensure lessons cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students, promoting achievement and progress for all
  • Develop and implement effective schemes of work and assessment strategies
  • Inspire students with a love for Biology and encourage them to pursue the subject beyond school
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities related to Science, such as clubs, trips, or enrichment opportunities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and stimulating curriculum across the Science Department
Person Specification
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Biology or a related subject
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Biology
  • Experience teaching Biology at KS4 and KS5, with a track record of excellent student outcomes
  • Ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school
