Junior Financial Accountant at Sandstone Care Group

  • £32,000 per annum
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday (Remote work available one day per week after successful probation)
  • Location: Birchwood Park, Warrington
  • Reporting to: Senior Financial Accountant
  • This is a temporary position with potential for permanent placement.

Sandstone Care Group is a leading operator in the care home sector, renowned for providing outstanding care across its nine facilities in the North of England and Wales. As we continue to expand, we are excited to welcome an experienced Junior Financial Accountant to our finance team. Our office, located in Birchwood Business Park, boasts excellent transport links, making it easily accessible.

Role Overview:

In this role, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive team, working closely with experienced professionals. The environment is friendly and encourages collaboration, with regular team-building activities to foster a welcoming atmosphere for new employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including accruals, prepayments, month-end journals, variance analysis, intercompany reconciliations, and nominal reviews.
  • Compile debtors reports and support credit control efforts.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and additional tasks as required.
  • Handle office administration duties, including managing incoming calls.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • AAT Level 4 qualification (candidates currently studying Level 4 will be considered).
  • Proven experience in an accounting role.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, particularly Xero, is highly desirable.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Team leadership experience is a plus but not mandatory.
