Job Description

**Job Title:** Technical Trainee - Construction

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Technical Trainee to join our team at Avocet Recruitment Ltd. As a Technical Trainee, you will provide support to our Technical team in the Planning, Engineering, and Design functions on allocated projects from tender to post-contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Managers with checking of all drawings within technical and engineering functions.
  • Monitor sub-contractor design approvals and keep updated approvals schedule in line with build programme.
  • Monitor and obtain all critical certificates to ensure documentation is in place for handovers, including air tests, MCS, and EPCs.
  • Liaise with NHBC Building Control to discharge any conditions.
  • Assist with coordinating information to discharge planning conditions.
  • Assist with applying for postal addresses and MPANs and MPRNs.
  • Assist with obtaining section agreements and technical approvals.
  • Coordinate information flow and updates on Document Management System.
  • Attend site meetings as required to assist the Project Manager.
  • Collate and respond to RFI's in liaison with the Project Manager.

Requirements:

  • 4 GCSEs A-C/4-9, with two of these being Maths and English.
  • A minimum of a Level 3/BTEC Diploma/2 A Levels.
  • Well-organized and IT literate.
  • A genuine interest in developing your career within the commercial function of Construction.
  • Professional communication style with the ability to work within a team of varying seniority within the business.
  • Full UK driving license (desirable).
