Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for running a caseload of legal expense insurer files, as well as assisting with non-contentious work and providing commercial and practical solutions to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising clients on potential Employment Tribunal claims;
  • Running a case load of Employment Tribunal claims, including drafting pleadings, drafting witness statements, negotiating settlements and advising on settlement agreements, and instructing counsel or advocates as necessary;
  • Complying with insurer service level agreements;
  • Supporting the employment team with non-contentious work, including provision of contractual documentation, handbooks and other employment documentation, together with provision of reactive and proactive employment advice to commercial clients;
  • Participating in marketing initiatives, including writing updates on employment law and providing training sessions to clients;
  • Ensuring accurate advice is given to clients;
  • Using our case management system to progress files;
  • Billing and invoicing.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified Solicitor, Barrister or FCILEx;
  • A passion for employment law and for providing commercial and practical solutions;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Effective communication and time management skills;
  • Ability to take full responsibility for cases and strategy (subject to supervisory and group support);
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Ability to prioritize and work to strict deadlines;
  • Organized approach to work;
  • Positive attitude.

Experience:

  • Previous Employment Law experience at sufficient level;
  • Ability to run a caseload.

Working Arrangements:

This role would be based in either our Bristol or Leeds office, with a combination of home and office working (typically working 2 days in the Bristol or Leeds city centre office and 3 days from home). You would therefore need the infrastructure in place to work from home and will be provided with a company laptop.

Hours:

7 hours a day, 35 hours a week, as agreed between the core working hours of 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday.
