Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employment Law Solicitor/FCILEx to join our team at Lyons Davidson Solicitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for running a caseload of legal expense insurer files, as well as assisting with non-contentious work and providing commercial and practical solutions to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising clients on potential Employment Tribunal claims;
- Running a case load of Employment Tribunal claims, including drafting pleadings, drafting witness statements, negotiating settlements and advising on settlement agreements, and instructing counsel or advocates as necessary;
- Complying with insurer service level agreements;
- Supporting the employment team with non-contentious work, including provision of contractual documentation, handbooks and other employment documentation, together with provision of reactive and proactive employment advice to commercial clients;
- Participating in marketing initiatives, including writing updates on employment law and providing training sessions to clients;
- Ensuring accurate advice is given to clients;
- Using our case management system to progress files;
- Billing and invoicing.
Requirements:
- Fully qualified Solicitor, Barrister or FCILEx;
- A passion for employment law and for providing commercial and practical solutions;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Effective communication and time management skills;
- Ability to take full responsibility for cases and strategy (subject to supervisory and group support);
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Ability to prioritize and work to strict deadlines;
- Organized approach to work;
- Positive attitude.
Experience:
- Previous Employment Law experience at sufficient level;
- Ability to run a caseload.
Working Arrangements:
This role would be based in either our Bristol or Leeds office, with a combination of home and office working (typically working 2 days in the Bristol or Leeds city centre office and 3 days from home). You would therefore need the infrastructure in place to work from home and will be provided with a company laptop.
Hours:
7 hours a day, 35 hours a week, as agreed between the core working hours of 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday.
