Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Tools Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of high-quality tools and technologies that support our game development pipeline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the Tools Engineering team, ensuring they have the necessary resources and expertise to deliver exceptional results.
  • Tool Development: Lead the development of best-in-class tools and technologies that meet the needs of our game development teams, with a focus on quality, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes that enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our engineering department.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including game development, art, and design, to ensure that our tools and technologies meet their needs and support the creation of exceptional gaming experiences.
  • Technical Direction: Provide technical guidance and direction to the Tools Engineering team, ensuring that our tools and technologies are aligned with the latest industry trends and best practices.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Tools Engineer on AAA game titles, with a strong understanding of game development pipelines and tools.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in common DCC tools, such as 3DS Max, Maya, Substance Suite, and Houdini, as well as a solid understanding of code architecture best practices.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and support a team of engineers.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
  • Unreal Engine Experience: Experience working with Unreal Engine 4 or 5 on AAA game titles.
  • Line Management Experience: Experience in line management of an engineering team.
  • Remote Team Experience: Experience supporting remote teams and working in a distributed environment.
