Job Title: Deputy Ward Manager

Job Summary:

Thestmagnuscommunity is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Ward Manager to join our team. As a key member of our hospital operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective management and utilization of ward resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Ward Manager to optimize ward manpower and resources, ensuring a clinically effective and financially viable environment.
  • Work with the Ward Manager to ensure that duty rotas are respected and adhered to by all ward staff, and manage requested alterations to rostered duties in their absence.
  • Conduct full duty shifts alongside and opposite ward staff nurses, fostering effective communication within duty shift teams and between day and night shifts.
  • Assist the Ward Manager in ensuring that all patients have up-to-date risk assessments and care plans, which are regularly reviewed and evaluated.
  • Work with the Ward Manager to maximize patient involvement in care planning and care plan review, documenting clear evidence of involvement and any factors that may impact it.
  • Attend hospital Senior Management Team meetings and Bed Management meetings on behalf of the Ward Manager, as delegated.
  • Participate in Group Management Supervision Sessions, facilitating and managing these sessions in the Ward Manager's absence.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a current NMC registration and relevant experience in a similar role.

Salary: Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience.
