Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Complaints Resolution Specialist to join our Patient Experience Team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve patient complaints in a timely and professional manner, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to address the concerns and provide a satisfactory outcome.
  • Collaborate with senior members of staff and other departments to ensure that complaints are thoroughly investigated and responded to in accordance with national and local guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and staff to ensure that complaints are handled in a sensitive and respectful manner.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on complaint handling procedures and ensure that all staff are aware of their roles and responsibilities in relation to complaints.
  • Maintain accurate records of complaints and investigations, including case files and Datix records.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to complaint handling and patient experience.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in complaint handling and patient experience.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in complaint handling and patient experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and staff at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex complaints and provide effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Knowledge of NHS Complaints Procedure, Information Governance, Freedom of Information, and Data Protection.
