Excelcare Holdings is a family-run organization with over 34 years of experience in providing exceptional care to elderly individuals with diverse needs, including dementia, physical disabilities, and mental health challenges. By becoming part of our team, you will be welcomed into our 'family,' and in recognition of your commitment and effort, you can anticipate:

  • £12.60 to £13.00 per hour based on your experience and qualifications
  • 24 hours of work per week
  • Two shifts weekly from 8am - 8pm or 8pm - 8am, with a requirement to work alternate weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • In your role as a Lead Care Support Specialist, you will collaborate with and mentor a team of Care Assistants to ensure that exemplary care is consistently provided.
  • You will report directly to the Home Manager and work closely with ancillary teams, other Lead Care Support Specialists, and registered nurses within the facility.
  • Your role will involve engaging residents in meaningful activities while consistently promoting independence, choice, dignity, and respect.
  • Contributing to the development of personalized care plans and risk assessments will be essential for the successful delivery of outstanding care, requiring regular updates and reviews.

What We Seek:

  • A minimum of two years' experience as a Care Assistant or Lead Care Support Specialist, along with an NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or three years' experience without an NVQ.
  • Experience in a nursing or care home setting or as a home care worker.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, particularly the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • Knowledge and experience working with individuals suffering from dementia is preferred.
  • Prior experience in prompting/administering medication using an electronic e-MAR system is advantageous; comprehensive training and support will be provided.
