Are you an enthusiastic Linux and OpenStack professional eager for a new opportunity? We are looking for a talented OpenStack Site Reliability Engineer to join this esteemed multinational corporation that is integral to the defence and security industries. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for the upkeep and management of OpenStack environments, collaborating with a highly skilled engineering team, and fostering innovation within the company. Your expertise will play a crucial role in shaping the future of software-defined data centres and automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain OpenStack environments, concentrating on essential components such as Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, and Cinder.
- Implement and configure OpenStack systems utilizing tools like Ansible and Terraform, ensuring environments are dependable, consistent, and secure.
- Assist with instance creation, user management, and rapid application development.
- Monitor system performance, anticipate future capacity needs, and resolve issues to ensure service continuity.
- Work alongside engineering teams to guarantee the smooth operation of OpenStack platforms and address any technical challenges.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge of OpenStack services, especially Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, Cinder, and the Ceph storage platform.
- Strong proficiency in Linux OS, with excellent scripting skills (bash, python) and command-line tools, particularly in RHEL environments.
- Experience in deploying, configuring, and managing OpenStack environments using automation tools like Ansible and Terraform.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools to ensure system health and performance.
- A solid understanding of security best practices for managing OpenStack platforms.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
- Strong communication abilities, with a collaborative mindset in a team-oriented environment.
