About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Consultant to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of medical staff, and contributing to the development of our Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in Emergency Medicine, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Lead a team of medical staff, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of our Emergency Department, including the implementation of new policies and procedures.
  • Participate in clinical governance activities, including audit and quality improvement projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with other departments and services within the Trust.
Requirements
  • Full GMC Registration.
  • MB ChB or equivalent.
  • Entry on the Specialist Register in Emergency Medicine, or within six months of CCT date.
  • ALS, ATLS, APLS provider.
Desirable Criteria
  • MRCP or equivalent additional higher qualification.
  • Experience as a locum Consultant or acting up MD MSc.
  • Instructor status in Advanced Life Support Courses, MIMMS provider.
  • Experience in Acute Medicine and/or other acute specialty.
  • Management/Leadership development course or qualification.
  • Quality improvement training.
