In this role, you will engage in an average of 42 hours per week, typically working 3.5 days on a structured 12-hour shift schedule. Our rotating timetable promotes a healthy work-life balance, featuring 4 days on, 4 days off, followed by 4 nights on and 4 nights off.
As part of your role, you will have the chance to take on extra hours through overtime, particularly during peak holiday periods. If you are passionate about fostering a secure and safe environment, we encourage you to consider joining our professional team that appreciates your commitment and skills.
Key Responsibilities- As an integral member of the security team, you will report directly to the Security Supervisor and undertake various security-related tasks as needed.
- You must be physically fit to conduct foot patrols and perform other security functions, both day and night, in diverse weather conditions.
- This position requires occasional independent work; therefore, reliability, punctuality, and a professional demeanor are crucial.
- Engaging with the public is a key aspect of this role, requiring you to manage situations with courtesy, tact, and discretion.
- Your duties will include ensuring the security and integrity of the premises through foot patrols, access management, and identification verification.
- You will also be responsible for locking and unlocking facilities, responding to emergencies, and ensuring that all documentation is completed accurately.
- Possession of a valid SIA Licence.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in security (preferred but not mandatory).
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Consistently reliable, punctual, and well-groomed while on duty.
- Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively, upholding high standards.
- Physically capable of undertaking extended foot patrols and security responsibilities in all weather conditions.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and adept at managing situations with courtesy, tact, and discretion.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, with a talent for accurately documenting incidents and adjusting to shifting priorities.
- Basic computer proficiency (including word processing, spreadsheets, and email) with a willingness to learn new software tools.
- Good vision with normal color perception for recognizing safety signage and other site indicators.
- Ability to maintain an understanding of security and fire safety protocols and procedures.
