Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Psychologist to join our team at HMP Altcourse, a leading prison establishment in the UK. As a Forensic Psychologist, you will play a critical role in leading and developing innovative plans to support the mental health and well-being of prisoners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a team of Forensic Psychologists in Training, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive forensic assessments, formulate treatment plans, and contribute to the development of psychological interventions for prisoners with complex needs.
  • Collaborate with the Psychology and Interventions team, prisoners, and the wider prison community to ensure effective prisoner management and rehabilitation.
  • Provide training and guidance on managing challenging behaviors, personality disorders, and complex case formulations to relevant teams.

Requirements:

  • HCPC Registered Forensic Psychologist with a strong background in prison mental health and psychology.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing innovative plans to support prisoner mental health and well-being.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with prisoners, staff, and external partners.
