Position Overview:
The role of the Procurement Specialist is to ensure a professional and compliant purchasing process for Northern Marine and its affiliated entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the effective execution of all routine procurement tasks and related administrative functions.
- Maintain a reliable supply of high-quality products and services for the fleet of managed vessels, which vary in age and classification, operating on a global scale.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate optimal purchasing agreements regarding quality, pricing, terms, delivery schedules, and supplier services.
- Engage collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders within the Purchasing Division.
- Administer and oversee third-party logistics operations.
- Provide ongoing assessments of Approved Vendor performance.
- Travel may be required on occasion.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed relevant to the role.
Candidate Qualifications:
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in procurement.
Desirable:
- Strong communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
