The Supply Register Limited is collaborating with educational institutions to recruit skilled Learning Support Assistants dedicated to assisting students with diverse special educational needs. We are seeking proactive and enthusiastic individuals to work on a flexible supply basis, accommodating both daily assignments and short-term engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure learning environment, ensuring that all materials and resources are prepared and utilized safely to help students achieve their educational goals.
  • Support teachers in delivering learning activities while ensuring the health and safety of students, including during off-site excursions. Assist students in engaging with learning tasks as directed by educators to facilitate their progress.
  • Provide administrative support, including typing, photocopying, and maintaining records related to student learning and behavior management, while liaising with specialists as necessary.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures concerning child protection, health, safety, and confidentiality, promptly reporting any concerns to appropriate personnel to safeguard student welfare.
  • Contribute positively to the overall objectives of the educational institution and collaborate effectively with colleagues and other professionals to support school development initiatives.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance personal skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Implement behavior management strategies for students with significant learning and emotional challenges to ensure their well-being and educational needs are met.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is essential.
  • Proficient in using basic technology in an educational context (e.g., computers, photocopiers).
  • Familiarity with policies and procedures related to child protection, health, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to build rapport with children and adults, understanding their needs and responding appropriately.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to encourage student interaction and social responsibility.
  • First Aid certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is required.
  • Possession of an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one is necessary.
  • Ability to provide at least two professional references covering the last two years of employment.
