Position Overview

Service Care Solutions is actively seeking a skilled Treasury and Capital Finance Manager to join a prominent Public Sector Organisation in London on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will serve as the capital finance authority within the organization, playing a crucial role in all facets of capital accounting, year-end processes, capital initiatives, and strategic capital planning. This position will oversee the Technical Accountant and Capital Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and adjust the capital budget for Service Areas on a monthly basis.
  • Compile and present the monthly Capital Position Report through the Strategic Finance team.
  • Prepare and deliver quarterly Capital Monitoring reports with detailed commentary via the Strategic Finance team.
  • Complete and submit quarterly statutory returns related to capital and treasury.
  • Manage year-end capital accounting and audit obligations.
  • Provide financial insights on capital business cases from Service Areas.
  • Lead the development of the Capital Strategy and Budget Setting.
  • Maintain and update the Asset Manager Register.
  • Ensure the execution of recommendations from the capital review.

Candidate Criteria

  • CCAB/CIMA Qualified Accountant with significant experience in Public Sector Finance.
  • Proven expertise in capital accounting and finance, including strategic capital management.
  • Experience with year-end financial statements and collaboration with external auditors.
  • Proficient in maintaining asset registers, filing statutory returns, and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a finance team within a public sector environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
