Capital Risk Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Capital Risk Manager to join our team at Zopa Bank. As a key member of our Risk function, you will provide expert oversight of capital, liquidity, and market risks, ensuring that our Treasury and Finance functions are appropriately addressing key risks to the Bank.
- Develop and maintain a clear and comprehensive Capital, Liquidity, and Market Risk framework, ensuring that policies and standards are well understood and embedded in business activity.
- Contribute to the development of the Bank's risk appetite for capital, liquidity, market, and other components of financial risk.
- Provide independent oversight and input on the Bank's ICAAP, ILAAP, and other regulatory documents.
- Review Treasury and Finance reporting and interpretations, providing independent assessments of appropriateness and accuracy.
- Review the adequacy of Treasury and Finance reporting and monitoring of capital, liquidity, and market risk, and provide reporting to ALCO, the Risk Management Committee, and the Board Risk Committee where appropriate.
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of regulatory and business changes, ensuring that processes capture future regulatory and business developments.
- Provide 2nd line oversight to ensure process risks and controls are being appropriately identified and monitored by the 1st line, and that there is sufficient segregation of duty in cash management and Treasury processes.
We are looking for a highly experienced Risk manager or Treasury professional with a strong understanding of the retail banking sector and products, and experience in a role specifically focused on capital or liquidity risk. You will have a technical understanding of capital, liquidity, market, and other financial risks, and have previously been involved in the ICAAP and/or ILAAP development. You will be a team player with good collaboration skills, able to work closely with other finance and business areas, product, and technology teams in a flexible way. You will have excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to summarise complex regulatory concepts in a clear and concise way to senior stakeholders. You will possess strong analytical and intellectual skills, able to engage with complex ideas and initiatives, and to come up with clear recommendations and courses of action.
