Payroll Analyst Role

About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Analyst to join our team at Cummins Inc. in Darlington, County Durham, United Kingdom. This is a fixed-term position for 18 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Streamline payroll processing by administering activities, ensuring efficient preparation, processing, and balancing.
  • Complete year-end processes accurately to ensure compliance with tax regulations and maintain financial integrity.
  • Review and prepare information for general ledger entries to enhance financial reporting accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate payments and deductions to sustain employee trust and satisfaction.
  • Ensure tax compliance by properly calculating taxes and adhering to internal procedures.
  • Act as a resource for payroll inquiries, establishing yourself as a knowledgeable expert and fostering internal and external relationships.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives aimed at improving payroll processes, driving efficiency and innovation within the organization.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of payroll documentation to ensure consistency and clarity in payroll procedures.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive payroll knowledge, including UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Technical skills in Excel, particularly with pivot tables and VLOOKUP, as well as familiarity with Time Management, Payroll, and HR systems.
  • Effective communication skills to develop and deliver communications that resonate with different audiences.
  • Decision-making and process optimization skills to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience of using Time Management, Payroll, and HR systems.
