About the Role

In this exciting position as a Data Protection Specialist at Vodafone, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's Global Privacy Program. Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert advice and support to the business on data protection, responsible AI, and data ethics requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice to business teams on data protection, responsible AI practices, and data regulatory requirements, supporting the creation and launch of compliant products and services.
  • Offer expert legal advice to support customer and supplier contract negotiations.
  • Identify and advise business on how to mitigate risks associated with data protection, AI applications, and regulatory changes.
  • Analyze and efficiently communicate legal and regulatory changes and trends to internal business stakeholders, providing relevant recommendations and actionable solutions.
  • Advise on and monitor data protection and responsible AI compliance programs within the area of responsibility and support the creation, improvement, and implementation of policies, procedures, and patterns to improve maturity and ensure alignment with the latest standards.

Requirements

  • CIPP or comparable professional certification or qualification.
  • Preferable: expertise in new technologies, AI, Cloud, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, and telecommunication networks.
  • Experience in drafting data processing terms, compliance policies, and processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of EU legislation governing data protection, AI, data regulations, and cybersecurity, and a good understanding of the global data and privacy landscape in technology, telecommunication, and online businesses.
  • Ability to interpret and apply these regulations within the organization.
  • Strong skills in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks related to data protection and AI, including experience with conducting impact assessments.
