Community Support Facilitator

We are collaborating with a prominent employability and welfare organization that has recently secured significant contracts aimed at assisting individuals in reintegrating into society.
We are seeking multiple Community Support Facilitators to offer personalized and group support to participants, facilitating a variety of information, guidance, and training that aids in their journey towards employment, education, and a life free from criminal activity.
Available Positions: Multiple roles available.
Compensation: Competitive salary.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage with and manage cases of participants, providing advocacy, mentoring, advice, and training interventions tailored to individual needs, promoting skill development and progression towards education and sustainable employment.
- Design and implement both group and individual activities as part of participant interventions, including initial assessments and personalized action plans.
- Collaborate with community organizations, voluntary sectors, and mainstream education, training, and employment services to ensure participants receive the necessary support to overcome obstacles and advance towards a crime-free life.
- Assist in establishing connections with new participants, helping them understand the benefits and support services available to them.
- Deliver services in various community and voluntary sector venues to ensure accessibility across a broader area.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential Qualifications:
- Qualifications in Information, Advice, and Guidance, or teaching (or equivalent) are preferred, but extensive experience in working closely with individuals to support their progression is paramount.
Key Competencies:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities.
- Capability to thrive in a target-oriented environment, focusing on achieving positive outcomes for participants.
- High-level guidance skills, with the capacity to conduct one-on-one and group sessions to a minimum standard.
Relevant Experience:
- Experience working with individuals who are offenders or those who are marginalized from mainstream services in training, guidance, advice, and counseling settings.
Knowledge Base:
- Understanding of the challenges surrounding the rehabilitation of offenders and the principles of desistance.
- Familiarity with National Probation Services or prison environments, as well as local and national training, education, and employment opportunities.
Personal Attributes:
- A warm, approachable, and empathetic demeanor, with the ability to build rapport and foster relationships with participants, supporting their transition to education, training, and employment while facilitating desistance from crime.
