Job Purpose

To lead the successful execution of strategically significant programs. Responsible for managing the Directorate Transformation Team to develop and implement a wide range of improvement activities and drive continuous enhancement initiatives, collaborating with partners and Directorate management teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and execution of the service plan, driving continuous improvement through cross-Council projects.
  • Support the delivery of strategically significant programs aligned with Council priorities.
  • Lead complex change initiatives to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness across the Adults and Health Directorate.
  • Manage strategy and policy initiatives, ensuring compliance with legislative changes and preparing for inspections.
  • Maintain a strategic overview of various programs, facilitating large-scale change by communicating a clear vision.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships and networks to achieve better outcomes.
  • Provide visible leadership, managing resources and workflows to meet objectives on time and within budget.
  • Enhance team development, maximizing technology use and supporting best practices.
  • Implement formal project methodologies to support project delivery.
  • Represent the service and provide briefings to senior officials and stakeholders.
  • Engage with elected Members, service users, and partners to support transparent governance.

Working Environment

You will work flexibly, both remotely and at various locations across the City and region. All colleagues are expected to adhere to hybrid working principles, spending regular time in the workplace to support service delivery. Working hours are primarily Monday to Friday, with potential evening or weekend commitments as needed.
