Project Controls Manager - Energy & Natural Resources

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to join our Energy & Natural Resources team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading cross-discipline teams to deliver effective project controls services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Project Controls Teams: Manage and lead cross-discipline teams of project controls professionals to deliver high-quality project controls services to our clients.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement processes to drive efficiency and increase benefits to our clients.
  • Define Project Controls Approaches: Develop and implement project controls approaches across the project, programme, and portfolio levels.
  • Implement Governance and Assurance: Define and implement effective governance and assurance processes around project controls products.
  • Develop Integrated Approaches: Develop scaled, tailored, and integrated approaches for project controls.
  • Manage Exclusions and Dependencies: Identify and manage exclusions, assumptions, interfaces, and dependencies.
  • Establish Performance Measurement Baseline: Work with the Integrated Project Team to establish a robust Performance Measurement Baseline and manage the change control process.
  • Develop Supplier Project Controls Contract Requirements: Work with Project and Commercial Management to establish Supplier Project Controls contract requirements.
  • Ensure Scope, Cost, Risk, and Schedule Integration: Ensure scope, cost, risk, and schedule integration and alignment.
  • Train and Coach Clients and Team Members: Train and coach clients and less experienced team members.
  • Assure Quality, Accuracy, and Integrity: Assure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the Project Controls team's output.
  • Undertake Line Management Activities: Undertake line management activities including career development and performance management.

Requirements:

  • Interact with Senior Management: Ability to interact with Senior Management when delivering updates on Performance Management.
  • Lead Performance Management Cadences: Ability to lead a team responsible for defining and delivering performance management cadences.
  • Guide Team on Systems and Tools: Guide the team on appropriate use of systems and tools (such as Power BI and Excel).
  • Take Responsibility for Personal Performance: Takes responsibility for personal performance and core skill set development.
  • Travel Requirements: A UK driving license or the ability to travel to client sites as required.

Experience and Skills:

  • Project Controls Disciplines: Experience in the application of several Project Controls disciplines (Planning, Cost Estimation, Cost Management, Risk Management, or Reporting).
  • Integrating Project Controls Disciplines: Practical experience of integrating Project Controls disciplines.
  • Project Controls Software: Experience in using Project Controls software (Primavera P6, Active Risk Manager, Ecosys, etc).
