Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Manage a regionally based team of project managers and assistant project managers to ensure the timely, quality, and cost-effective delivery of projects.
- Team Development: Develop and maintain a strong team ethic, ensuring consistency of approach and sharing of ideas.
- Financial Performance: Promote and monitor financial/commercial performance across your team and report monthly.
- Project Management: Ensure project managers can manage and update systems on project progress and performance.
- Customer Communication: Ensure the project team is clearly and regularly communicating with customers and internal/external stakeholders.
- Performance Evaluation: Carry out monthly one-on-one meetings with project managers to evaluate performance and review their project portfolio.
- Business Improvement: Work closely with the senior management team to share feedback and help with the continuous improvement of policies and procedures.
- HR Support: Take responsibility for the day-to-day HR requirements of your team.
- Customer Support: Attend customer meetings to support project managers and provide high-level feedback where requested.
- Stakeholder Management: Provide support to project teams to liaise with external stakeholders, such as local authorities, gas, water, electric network operators, and suppliers.
- Team Management: Manage team headcount through retention and smart recruiting.
- Training and Development: Develop training plans for your team to meet company and employee goals.
- Management Experience: Previous management experience in a utility-based discipline.
- Project Delivery: Previous track record of managing and delivering on multiple projects and related financial performance.
- Industry Knowledge: Good understanding of the new connection utility industry (desirable).
- Health and Safety: Managing health and safety qualification, such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
- Engineering Qualification: HNC in an engineering discipline, ideally electrical and electronic engineering.
- Business Qualification: Business leadership/management qualification.
- Utility-Based Skill: Previous utility-based skill qualifications.
