Sustainability Consulting Manager

Altum Consulting, a prominent firm in the Infrastructure Consulting sector, is seeking candidates for the role of Energy Consulting Manager, specializing in either Hydrogen or Electrical energy solutions. Altum Consulting provides a comprehensive range of services to clients in the built environment, encompassing advisory, construction, engineering, digital solutions, sustainability initiatives, and project management, all while fostering a positive workplace culture.
This position offers the chance to engage in some of the most intricate and innovative projects within the built environment, contributing significantly to both communities and businesses.
The selected candidates will join a dedicated Energy Consulting team, focusing on either Hydrogen or Electrical projects, and will be responsible for:
- Leading and supporting project teams while advising senior management on the development of strategies, solutions, and integrated project frameworks for both public and private sector clients.
- Consulting on net-zero solutions and decarbonization initiatives across various energy vectors and domains, including:
- Low carbon hydrogen
- Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS)
- Wind energy
- Solar energy
- Alternative Fuels
- Tidal energy
This role offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for a blend of office, client site, and remote work. The team operates from multiple locations across the North.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, Energy, or a related field.
- Chartership or membership in relevant professional institutions is advantageous, though not mandatory; candidates should be on the path to achieving such credentials.
- Experience in energy modeling and financial analysis techniques, along with interdisciplinary knowledge in the energy sector, will be beneficial.
- A strong commitment to the green economy, environmental sustainability, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact in these areas.
- Proven ability to lead technical consulting projects, including feasibility studies for energy infrastructure and developing energy strategies for various portfolios or areas, while advising clients on options, risks, and actions towards achieving net-zero carbon goals.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary technical design teams, applying technical standards and project management methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills for project and technical assessments, reporting, and presentations.
- Capability to create business cases for energy investments and infrastructure upgrades.
