Archivist/Curator Opportunity at the Institute of Popular Music

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Institute of Popular Music Archivist/Curator.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Appraise, weed, and catalogue the archive
  • Monitor storage and conservation needs, working with external contractors as necessary
  • Recommend digitisation priorities and prepare content for projects in liaison with the wider team
  • Contribute to the broader ambitions of the IPM and work with stakeholders to provide information and interpretation for promotional content
  • Support the integration of the collection into teaching, research, and public engagement

As part of a small team, you will work collaboratively to ensure the archive can be used to its full potential as a research resource.

You will take an active role using physical and digital environments to reach new audiences.

Requirements:

  • Highly skilled and motivated individual
  • Experience in appraisal, weeding, and cataloguing
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
