Position Overview
We are pleased to announce a permanent opportunity for a dedicated band 3 Oncology Appointment Scheduling Specialist to join our supportive team within the oncology and haematology day unit at our healthcare facility.
The role involves a commitment of hours per week, with the possibility of flexible scheduling across three days to accommodate service needs.
The successful candidate will take charge of coordinating intricate chemotherapy appointments utilizing the MOSAIQ electronic scheduling platform, engaging with patients, and providing essential administrative support.
Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset, along with excellent interpersonal abilities. Being a team player and a willingness to adapt to new IT systems is crucial. Familiarity with careflow EPR/MOSAIQ is advantageous but not mandatory, as comprehensive training will be provided. Exceptional communication skills are vital, as initial patient interactions will require a compassionate and empathetic approach.
Key Responsibilities
The Oncology and Haematology day unit is dedicated to delivering systemic anti-cancer treatments (chemotherapy and supportive therapies) for patients with various solid tumors and blood disorders. The appointee will collaborate with an experienced chemotherapy booking coordinator to arrange both new and follow-up chemotherapy appointments.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Coordinating complex chemotherapy appointments using the MOSAIQ electronic scheduling system.
- Engaging with patients to provide administrative assistance and support.
