South Benfleet, Essex, United Kingdom HCRG Care Group Full time

Position Overview

As part of the NHS initiative, Essex County Council, HCRG Care Group, and Barnardos are dedicated to delivering a comprehensive range of services aimed at children, young individuals, and families across Essex, ensuring accessibility without any charges at the point of service.

The program, referred to as the Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service, is committed to providing every child and family in Essex with the optimal foundation for a healthy life by addressing their specific needs.

Our offerings span from the Antenatal phase through to the age of 19, or 25 for those with Special Educational Needs, and are delivered within the community, providing outcome-focused support in homes, educational institutions, or at designated Family Hubs and Delivery Sites.

We are dedicated to enhancing health and wellness outcomes for children and families, working collaboratively with the community.

As a Pediatric Nurse within the Essex Child & Family Wellbeing Service, you will become part of a team that prioritizes clinical excellence and has recently achieved a commendable CQC rating.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Pediatric Nurse, you will be integrated into a Healthy Family Team that emphasizes clinical excellence. Your workdays will be fulfilling and diverse, encompassing support for children and families while empowering them to achieve their fullest potential.

  • A Healthy Family Team is present in every District of Essex, comprising a multidisciplinary group, including Health Visitors, Pediatric Nurses, Family Wellbeing Nurses, and other professionals collaborating to provide family support.
  • As a Pediatric Nurse, you will collaborate with SCPHN Pediatric Nurses, overseeing the implementation of the Healthy Child Programme, which includes assessing health needs, developing, executing, and evaluating care packages.
  • You will work collectively to provide universal Pediatric Nursing services that support various aspects of a child or young person's development and health from the transition into school up to the age of 19 (or 25 for SEND).
  • Leadership will be a key aspect of your role, serving as a positive role model by supporting colleagues and exemplifying high standards of care.
  • You will also take on mentorship duties for pre-registration students during their placements and provide preceptorship to assist new staff members.
  • Our Practice Education team will support you in these responsibilities, with SCPHN training available after one year in the position. Regular safeguarding supervision and opportunities for ongoing professional development will also be provided.
