Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated Band 5 Pediatric Care Nurses to join our compassionate team at Havens Hospices.

In this role, you will be integral to providing exceptional care for our young patients within a nurturing hospice environment, characterized by serene landscaping and gardens.

Key Responsibilities

This position entails evaluating and addressing the needs of patients, including assessing, planning, implementing, and reviewing care in accordance with established policies, protocols, and ethical standards.

  • Assess and manage the needs of patients and young people, ensuring care is tailored to individual requirements.
  • Deliver nursing care that meets the highest standards and aligns with patient needs.
  • Involve family members and caregivers in the care process, ensuring their participation is safe and welcomed.
  • Uphold confidentiality and privacy at all times.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in both primary and secondary care settings as necessary.
  • Adhere to medication management policies and procedures.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of patients and young people.
  • Provide support to families and caregivers before and after a patient's passing, coordinating with other agencies when needed.
  • Assist medical personnel in supporting patients during consultations and managing their care.

Candidate Profile

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Outlook, and Excel.

Qualifications

  • First level Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Experience working with children is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registration as a Children's Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse.
  • Experience in the charitable sector is advantageous.
