About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Practitioner to join our Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the implementation of infection prevention and control measures across the trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work independently and in conjunction with the IPC team to monitor compliance with trust policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the implementation of infection prevention and control theory into practice.
  • Support and coach clinical teams, wards, and departments in the principles of infection prevention and control.
  • Ensure that infection prevention and control documentation is completed accurately.
  • Support other members of the IPC team with infection prevention and control advice and formal and informal training.
  • Assist the IPC team with audit data collection, input, and analysis.

Person Specification

  • Ability to travel between sites.
  • Experience of working as a healthcare assistant.
  • Foundation degree or nursing associate qualification.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Clinical competence including maintaining confidentiality.
  • IT literate and computer skills.
