Position Overview: Our client is seeking a Lead Offshore Pipeline Specialist to join their team on a contractual basis. This role is essential for supporting global offshore deepwater initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the engineering team based in the UK, focusing on all engineering tasks related to unbonded flexible pipe systems throughout various project phases, including feasibility studies, Basic/FEED, and execution.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation for unbonded flexible pipes during all project stages, including Conceptual Studies, FEED, and Tender packages.

Contract Management:

  • Oversee significant EPCI contracts for offshore projects involving unbonded flexible pipe systems during both the tendering and execution phases.
  • Ensure compliance of unbonded flexible pipe system designs with project specifications, applicable regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Review and validate FEED, tender, and detailed engineering outputs produced by contractors.

Company Representation:

  • Act as the company representative for all activities related to the fabrication and testing of unbonded flexible pipe systems.
  • Serve as the company representative during the offshore installation of flexible pipes on installation vessels.
  • Maintain awareness of design standards for unbonded flexible pipes and ensure adherence to internal company HSEQ policies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in the technical design of unbonded flexible flowlines and risers, including associated components from initial engineering through to detailed design.
  • Familiarity with Design and Safety Reviews, HAZOP, HAZID, and Risk Assessments.
  • Experience supervising contractor and vendor deliverables.
  • Ability to support both onshore and offshore testing activities, including FAT, SIT, and commissioning processes.
  • Knowledge of relevant international codes and subsea standards for flexible pipes, particularly API17J, API17L1, API17B, and API17K.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience with flexible pipes from preliminary engineering through detailed design.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and basic AutoCAD knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Mechanical Finite Analysis software and dynamic analysis tools.
