Regional Resilience Coxswain

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Resilience Coxswain / Mechanic to join our lifesaving Operations team in Scotland.
Key Responsibilities- Become competent to carry out Coxswain, Helm and/or Mechanic duties as required at lifeboat stations in the Scotland region during periods of relief cover
- Inspire and motivate your team; managing their progress by leading them on seagoing exercises, conducting shore-based training, identifying ways they can improve and imparting your valuable knowledge
- Ensure the lifeboats and equipment are maintained and ready for service 24/7
- Be responsible for the management and welfare of the station volunteers
- Meeting and talking to the general public about the RNLI
- Taking a lead on Safety, Health and Environment issues, helping to develop a positive culture within the stations
- Spending time in the day to day running of the Lifeboat Station; this may be in the form of answering e-mails, ensuring maintenance records are maintained or updating the stations monthly assurance report
- Demonstrable leadership experience in an operational role
- Excellent communication and operational leadership skills
- Have thorough Maritime knowledge and the ability to command and lead a team
- Be able to safely handle/operate boats up to 20 metres in length in a variety of conditions
- Knowledge of RNLI/SAR and lifeboat operations
- Have had experience working within assurance and audit systems
- Have sound knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental considerations within the workplace
- Essential to live within Scottish region
