We are seeking a Senior Transport Coordinator to manage and oversee the Transport operation at our Port Salford site. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning driver and vehicle resource to achieve delivery/collection times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimise resource and adherence to WTD and drivers' hours legislation.
  • Develop and implement an effective transport plan to achieve on-time delivery and collection performance expectations.
  • Oversee own and subcontractor resource to achieve delivery/collection times, creating and updating daily run summaries.
  • Communicate effectively with the Planning team, Customer Service, other depots, and customers as required.
  • Monitor arrival and departure times to ensure deliveries are made within specified windows.
  • Find the best fit solution for customer collections, adhering to collection times.
  • Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses in line with company procedures.
  • Conduct colleague reviews and plan drivers for meetings/courses as required.
Requirements
  • Proven knowledge and experience of tachograph/driving rules and regulations.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Planning and organising skills, with the ability to work efficiently and accurately to meet set deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills to deliver accurate information.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Office packages, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
