About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Technician to join our team in maintaining the rail network. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our railway.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, at all times of the year, day or night, to perform demanding manual tasks and transport equipment across challenging terrain.
  • Lead and motivate a team to deliver work safely and efficiently, while also being a role model for safe working behaviors.
  • Use your technical skills to inspect, fault, maintain, and renew railway infrastructure, while consistently developing your skills and competencies relevant to your discipline.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that all work is carried out safely and in accordance with strict safety standards.
Requirements
  • Leadership skills to motivate and direct a team for safe and efficient work delivery.
  • Effective communication skills to deliver clear instructions to the team and other colleagues.
  • Technical skills and knowledge of inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques in the discipline you are applying for.
  • Safety-focused behavior, with the ability to arrange and implement safe systems of work and challenge situations that may be unsafe.
  • Problem-solving skills to find safe and effective solutions, with a willingness to learn and develop your skills and competencies relevant to your discipline.
  • Relevant qualification, such as an NVQ Level 1 or 2 linked to the discipline you are applying for, or equivalent level of relevant experience.
