Brief Description
As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail network. This is a critical position that requires a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, often in challenging terrain, to perform maintenance tasks on the rail network.
- Collaborate with a team to deliver work safely and efficiently, adhering to strict safety standards.
- Lead the team when required, using your skills to deliver work safely and checking that team members have the necessary competencies.
- Role model safe working behaviors and be confident to challenge any potential risks to safety.
Requirements
- Leadership skills to motivate and direct a team for safe and efficient work delivery.
- Effective communication skills to deliver clear instructions to the team and other colleagues.
- Technical skills, including knowledge and experience of inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques.
- Safety awareness and the ability to consistently role model safe behaviors.
- Problem-solving skills to find safe and effective solutions.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills and competencies relevant to the discipline.
- Relevant qualification, ideally an NVQ Level 1 or 2 linked to the discipline, or equivalent experience.
