Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Servicing and Support line of business in Edinburgh.
About the Role:
As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for interacting with Programme and Integrated Project Teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products that meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and support on quality assurance and quality control matters.
- Support the Principle Product Assurance Engineer in driving objectives to meet or exceed targets, including LPS/KPI goals, QL4 effectiveness, supplier and customer timely RCCA.
- Contribute to the development of Project Assurance Plans (PAP) defining project assurance activities aligned to Risk, Opportunity, and Improvement within the Programme.
- Lead the Assurance function's improvement plans across all phases of the Programme, Product, and Project Lifecycle.
- Mentor others to grow Quality excellence within the Programme.
- Apply interpersonal skills to positively influence behaviors within Quality at individual and team levels.
- Attend and contribute to key meetings, including IPT, morning meetings, DPU forums, Engineering WO meetings, etc.
- Take leadership in ensuring concessions/production permits are processed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Support the achievement of project assurance milestones within the Programme, Product, and Project lifecycle.
- Ensure the delivery of reports and supporting data to the Programme, Project, and function in a timely manner.
- Actively manage root cause and corrective action investigations by taking lead on key FRBs, SCARS, and customer complaints.
Requirements:
- Further education and experience in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a similar field.
- Demonstrate knowledge within the areas of AS9100/ISO9001 and Continuous Improvement.
- Some knowledge and practical experience of Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification, and First Article Inspection.
- Be a logical thinker, capable of harvesting complex data into actions with practical solutions that support business goals.
- Have good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business.
- Be able to demonstrate experience in working with Customers and Suppliers.
- Have demonstrated experience working in high-precision manufacturing environments.
