Job Title: Apprentice Transmission Engineer

Join our team as an Apprentice Transmission Engineer and embark on a three-year journey to develop your skills and knowledge in the field of transmission engineering.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our Transmission business as an Apprentice Transmission Engineer. As a trainee, you will have the opportunity to study towards a HNC and Diploma in Higher Education in Energy Engineering, while gaining hands-on experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Study towards a HNC and Diploma in Higher Education in Energy Engineering
  • Gain hands-on experience in the field through placements within Transmission
  • Work alongside experienced SSE engineers and crafts people
  • Develop skills in Low Voltage Switching and High Voltage Switching
  • Contribute to the daily operation, repair, and future design of the transmission network
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • 1 Scottish Higher at grade C or above in Maths or Physics OR
  • 1 A level at grade D or above in Maths or Physics OR
  • NC/NQ Engineering at SCQF level 6 or equivalent OR the completion of a Foundation Apprenticeship Engineering
