About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our Transmission Trainee Engineer programme. As a Trainee Engineer, you will have the opportunity to study towards a HNC and Diploma in Higher Education in Energy Engineering, while gaining hands-on experience working on site and in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Study towards a HNC and Diploma in Higher Education in Energy Engineering
  • Gain hands-on experience working on site and in the field
  • Work alongside experienced SSE engineers and crafts people
  • Develop skills in Low Voltage Switching and High Voltage Switching
  • Contribute to the daily operation, repair and future design of the Transmission Network
Requirements
  • 1 Scottish Higher at grade C or above in Maths or Physics OR
  • 1 A level at grade D or above in Maths or Physics OR
  • NC/NQ Engineering at SCQF level 6 or equivalent OR the completion of a Foundation Apprenticeship Engineering
