This organization supports various markets, including hydrocarbon and government services, across multiple continents, providing exciting opportunities on some of the largest and most intricate projects worldwide.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Lead Piping Engineer with substantial experience in guiding FEED Design teams. The scope of the project encompasses water treatment facilities, water injection pumps, and related infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in equipment and plant layout, as well as piping design for both Onshore Brownfield and Greenfield projects, utilizing E3D software. Experience with the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) is a critical requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive 3D CAD models for typical equipment and piping layouts, addressing both greenfield and brownfield modifications in process and utility areas.
- Ensure proper access for operations, mechanical handling, egress, preliminary structures, and interfaces with underground services.
- Review construction access for installation and crane operations.
- Establish work processes and design job notes for the piping team, ensuring effective cross-discipline collaboration.
- Provide guidance and coordinate with Area Lead Piping Designers in an advisory capacity.
- Integrate inputs from pipe stress engineering and pipe support design into the overall layout development.
- Manage client expectations while providing constructive feedback.
- Safeguard discipline budget and schedule commitments, managing changes effectively.
- Review and comment on piping and multi-discipline project documents.
- Contribute to piping Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and discipline estimating.
- Facilitate effective communication with other engineering disciplines, enhancing work process interfaces.
- Commit to multi-centre project execution strategies, providing technical support and coordination.
- Represent the piping discipline during client model reviews.
- Assist in the production, checking, and approval of piping deliverables.
- Participate in site visits or surveys as necessary, delegating tasks within the Piping Team as appropriate.
- Adhere to engineering standards and procedures, contributing to their ongoing enhancement.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Extensive knowledge of Piping Design and Onshore Plant Layout.
- Experience in onshore crude processing layout.
- Proficiency in piping design for brownfield applications, emphasizing site surveys and CAD modeling.
- Previous responsibility in plant layout and piping design as an Area Lead.
- Ability to lead layout coordination for Area Lead Designers across the piping team.
- Strong understanding of stress and support requirements in brownfield routings.
- Familiarity with 3D CAD modeling systems, preferably E3D.
- Effective communication skills, including presentation capabilities at design reviews.
- Prior experience with Kuwait projects and KOC standards.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with AutoCAD for basic drafting updates.
- Hands-on experience with E3D CAD modeling.
- Previous experience with the hiring company.
Education:
Desirable: Engineering Degree (BEng)
Minimum: Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Plant Process Engineering or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
