About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Chef to join our team at Elysium Healthcare. As a Regional Chef, you will be responsible for providing relief chef cover across the Northern Region, working closely with our dedicated teams to deliver high-quality culinary services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Covering in the absence of Head Chefs or Chefs at sites, ensuring the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
  • Maintaining good food storage procedures and stock rotation according to established protocols.
  • Preparing, planning, and cooking meals to a consistently high standard, taking into account special requests and dietary requirements.
  • Serving service users, staff, and visitors with food and beverages in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Preparing and producing foods for conferences and banquets.
  • Participating in food costings through effective cost control procedures.
  • Adhering to 'Safer Food Better Business' standards and record-keeping.
  • Adhering strictly to Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety procedures at all times.
  • Taking full shift responsibility for the catering operation.
  • Correctly filing all paperwork related to the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point system (HACCP).
  • Carrying out internal and external audits of the catering department.
  • Assisting in preparing, producing, and presenting catering department reports.
  • In the absence of the Head Chef, providing Head Chef cover at site, including recruiting and training new team members.
Requirements
  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Hold a full clean driving license and own transport.
  • Have GCSE or equivalent English.
  • Hold City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking.
  • Have Level 3 Food Hygiene (essential).
  • Have Intermediate Food Hygiene (desirable).
  • Have previous experience in a similar environment.
  • Have previous experience in delivering a service on mass.
  • Have menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control, and budget experience.
