About Us

Harris Primary Academy Orpington is a thriving educational institution dedicated to providing a well-rounded and enjoyable education to its students. Our Values

We have identified six shared values that we develop with our students throughout the academic year: Respect, Unity, Cooperation, Aspiration, Responsibility, and Integrity. These values are the foundation of our academy and are expected to be modeled and respected by all adults, children, and staff, both inside and outside the academy.

Our Curriculum

Our knowledge-rich curriculum is designed to challenge and inspire our students, exposing them to a wide variety of exciting experiences, including visits, events, sports, music, and drama. This approach enables our students to develop excellent behavior and social skills while learning.

Main Areas of Responsibility

As a Learning Support Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and supporting students with SEND, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
  • Establishing good relationships with all students, acting as a role model, and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs.
  • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all students.

As part of making reasonable adjustments, it may be necessary to direct LSAs to support students' intimate care needs in line with the academy's Intimate Care Policy and to maintain their health, safety, and personal dignity.

We are seeking candidates with:

  • Qualifications to GCSE Level standard or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and understanding of students with social and emotional difficulties that may impact upon their behavior.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing.
