Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, inspiring and engaging them in developing their literacy skills.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a whole-school literacy strategy, working closely with colleagues to improve standards across the curriculum.
  • Monitor and track student progress in literacy, ensuring all learners make strong progress and achieve their full potential.
  • Support and guide colleagues in embedding literacy skills across all subjects, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that challenges and supports all students.
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to drive forward literacy standards, contributing to the school's ethos and values.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in English or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful teaching in English, ideally with experience in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Experience in leading literacy initiatives or a willingness to develop in this area, with a passion for raising literacy standards and a creative approach to teaching.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire both students and staff, and a commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
