Job Title: Pathology IT Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Pathology IT Specialist. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical support and system administration for our pathology IT systems.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist the team in managing projects and performing project actions assigned to the Pathology IT team.
  • Acquire a wide knowledge and detailed understanding of relevant aspects of the software environments used in pathology.
  • Assist in the monitoring of the integration between WinPath and other systems.
  • Liaise with other departments in pathology, trust ICT, informatics, and external providers.
  • Use PCs for word processing, spreadsheet management, office automation, and project management.
  • Analyze technical issues under the direction of the Pathology IT Manager and make recommendations on the best option for selection.
  • Acquire a very good understanding of server and PC hardware configuration in use for pathology systems.
  • Suggest enhancements to Pathology IT internal technical policies and contribute to working groups set up to develop Pathology IT core policies.
Requirements:
  • Experience of using Clinisys Winpath system or similar LIMS.
  • Significant experience in autonomously supporting IT systems in a multi-user environment.
  • Wide knowledge and understanding of the more technical and complex issues relevant to application configuration.
