The Botanic Gardens Conservation International seeks a Director of the Conservatory and Botanical Collection to lead the development and growth of this important resource for botanical teaching, K-12 and public outreach, and research.

The Conservatory's collection is the most diverse in the region, featuring over 1,500 unique plant species from across the world. Living collections are housed in a state-of-the-art facility with four biome rooms and large, in-ground plantings.

The role of Director requires an individual who is energetic, professional, and collaborative, with excellent managerial, organizational, and communication skills. Key responsibilities include curating the conservatory collections, supporting course instruction, overseeing greenhouse operations, teaching a specimen-based course, and supervising the Conservatory team.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in botany, horticulture, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in botanical conservation or a related field
