The College of Biological Sciences at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities seeks a Director for the CBS Conservatory and Botanical Collection to lead its growth and development.
About the RoleThe Conservatory's collection is the most diverse in the Upper Midwest, featuring over 1,500 unique plant species from around the world. The Director will be responsible for curating the collections, supporting course instruction, overseeing greenhouse operations, and teaching a specimen-based course in their area of expertise.
Key Responsibilities- Curate the Conservatory collections and develop strategies for their growth and maintenance
- Support course instruction and develop educational programs for K-12 and public outreach
- Oversee greenhouse operations and ensure the health and well-being of the plant collections
- Teach a specimen-based course in their area of specialty
- Supervise the Conservatory team and provide guidance and support as needed
The ideal candidate will have excellent managerial, organizational, and communication skills, as well as a strong background in botany or a related field. They will be energetic, professional, and collaborative, with a passion for plant conservation and education.
What We OfferThe University of Minnesota offers a competitive salary range of $75,000-80,000 USD and a permanent contract. The Conservatory is located in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN, USA.
