We are collaborating with a prominent independent publisher based in London, specializing in both Adult and Children's literature, to find a motivated and well-organized Foreign Rights Assistant to join their dynamic foreign sales team. This role is diverse and fast-paced, ideal for someone eager to embark on a career in publishing while utilizing their foreign language abilities. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days in the office and two days working remotely.
As a Foreign Rights Assistant, you will partner closely with the Head of Foreign Sales to support the sale of publishing rights for a varied selection of books to global markets.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Drafting and managing sales contracts and promotional materials
- Coordinating co-edition projects
- Responding to inquiries from international publishers
- Providing administrative assistance to the foreign sales department, including maintaining a database of foreign rights information and contacts
- Overseeing contract processing and tracking royalties
- Assisting in the organization of book fairs and occasional attendance
This position is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, confident, and enthusiastic individual eager to learn about the publishing industry, particularly in the realm of foreign rights. The ideal candidate may be a recent graduate seeking their first industry role, possessing some administrative experience and strong IT skills, with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Exceptional communication and organizational skills are essential, and fluency in a foreign language (preferably French, Spanish, or Italian) is advantageous, though not mandatory.
This role offers comprehensive training while also allowing you to work independently within a supportive team environment.
