Job Title: Associate Chief Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and credible senior nurse leader to join York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

As Associate Chief Nurse, you will provide strong and effective strategic and clinical leadership as part of a senior leadership team, working in collaboration with the Care Group Director, Associate Chief Operating Officer and Associate Chief Allied Health Professional.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Support the professional development of nurses at all levels and champion a culture of quality improvement, effective clinical governance, and great patient experience.
  2. Be responsible for decision making where practice or service delivery issues require specialty leadership, ensuring a focus on quality, safety, and operational leadership.
  3. Develop leadership and management capacity within nursing for designated areas, in line with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, resource controls, and constraints.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A Registered Nurse qualification (Level 1) and a relevant degree or equivalent level of skill acquired through experience.
  2. Formal management qualification or equivalent level of skill acquired through experience.
  3. Evidence of ongoing relevant professional development.
  4. Relevant experience in nursing management in a related field, with demonstrable understanding and experience of management, and handling of data and information.
  5. Budgetary management and workforce development experience.
  6. In-depth understanding and experience of clinical governance and quality management.
